Weddings

Enviably positioned in one of the most spectacular settings in the South Hams (on the headland just above the picturesque town of Salcombe) East Soar Farm is the perfect place for those seeking a venue with oodles of character and rustic charm.

Our 7 acre site comprises several beautiful barns, stone outbuildings and ample parking in the field above the Wedding Barn. We have a purpose built ablution block, offering perfect facilities for your guests. Two fire pit areas provide ample space to enjoy the sunset and saviour the stunning sea views over Bolt Head and the South West Coastal Path. We have resident sheep, pigs, pygmy goats, donkeys and pony - all are happy to pose for photos!

To ensure wedding functions do not impact on our school work we are currently only doing 9 weddings a year in the Spring/Summer/ Autumn months.

Our main package for weddings in May, June, July and September (starting at £6 500) include:

Package 1B: £6 500

• the exclusive use of the site from the Friday afternoon until the Sunday morning. The bridal couple has access to the cottage and wedding barn from the Thursday morning to enable an extra day of setting up.
• The Campers Barn, our very unique Campers Barn is made available for pre-celebration drinks. Perfect spot for your guests to mingle while you have your photo's taken on the farm!
• For the perfect humanist ceremony we offer couples a choice between our front field (with beautiful sea views) or our rustic attic barn we call The Swallows’ Nest (with log burner, wooden ceiling beams, wooden floors, quirky leather sofas and plenty of fairy lights).
• a pretty 3 bedroom cottage  for 4 nights (Thursday - Monday), situated next to the farm house, ideal for the bridal party.
• newly refurbished main wedding barn with rustic wooden tables, wooden shutters, seating for up to 140 guests and connecting door opening on to an open fronted barn.
• festoon and fairy lights inside the wedding barn and outside framing the main buildings
• hay bales for extra seating in the open fronted barn.
• catering room with electricity, fridges, tables
• all logs for the weekend
• no corkage if you wish to bring your own table wine and welcome drinks. A licenced evening bar is run by East Soar

Package 1A: £8 000

Everything included in Package 1B, with added bell tent accommodation and meals;

• accommodation for 36 guests in our 7 bell tents for 2 nights (Friday/Saturday) and use of our Campers barn
• Friday evening meal for all resident guests
• Saturday/Sunday, continental breakfast for all resident guests.

 

Package 2: Autumn weddings £5000

• 2 during the first two weekends in October. 
• the exclusive use of the site from the Friday afternoon until the Sunday morning. The bridal couple has access to the cottage and wedding barn from the Thursday morning.
• Use of the Swallows nest for a humanist ceremony or welcome drinks.
